I’m Suzanne Gildert, an entrepreneur and technologist based in Vancouver

I’ve been involved in tech startups and startup incubators for 16 years. I’ve co-founded three companies (Kindred AI, Sanctuary AI, and Nirvanic), and worked in quantum computing, AI and Robotics.

In addition to having real-world, boots-on-the-ground experience with my own companies, I’ve also mentored startups professionally via the Creative Destruction lab for several years. I also held the role of a Faculty Expert at Singularity University, where I coached business leaders about the impacts of future disruptive technologies.

What differentiates me from other business mentors is two-fold:

Firstly, I specialize in ultra deep tech, world changing ideas. I’ve learned through experience how to nurture, grow and protect groundbreaking ideas, often while the rest of the world tells you it isn’t possible. I know the skills and the mindset that founders need in order for their nascent ideas to flourish.

Secondly, you can think of my coaching style as more of a “founder’s friend” than a standard business mentor — someone with whom you can talk through the hard and messy personal stuff. Founders are often expected to be stoic, analytical leaders who can effortlessly deal with anything.

But the reality is that behind the scenes people feel like they are falling apart, dealing daily with personality clashes, impossible deadlines, imposter syndrome, team drama, you name it. I believe that in the world of business you can’t separate the numbers from the emotions. And sometimes you just need to talk to someone outside of the circle of your team. I can be that person - a fully confidential and arms-length advisor who you can lean on for support of this type.
